Unusual Enhancement of Midlatitude Sporadic-E Layers in Response to a Minor Geomagnetic Storm

چکیده
This study investigates the variations of middle and low latitude sporadic-E (Es) layers in response to a geomagnetic storm. Es are observed by five ionosondes located Eastern Asian sector. The critical frequencies (foEs) at six stations increased sequence from high after IMF/Bz turning southward. Lomb–Scargle analysis shows amplification semidiurnal oscillation amplitude vertical height during disturbance. Modeling results NCAR Thermosphere-Ionosphere-Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIEGCM) show enhancement wind field mesosphere lower thermosphere (MLT) region. Our provides evidence that enhanced MLT region storm period could result latitude.

Dayside midlatitude ionospheric response to storm time electric fields: A case study for 7 September 2002
[1] With the storm of 7–8 September 2002 as a study case, we demonstrate that an ionospheric model driven by a suitable storm time convection electric field can reproduce the F region dayside density enhancements associated with the ionospheric storm positive phase. The ionospheric model in this case is the Utah State University Time Dependent Ionospheric Model (TDIM); the electric field model ...
متن کاملE-region wind-driven electrical coupling of patchy sporadic-E and spread-F at midlatitude
This paper investigates the role of neutral winds in the generation of relatively large polarization electric fields across patchy sporadic-E layers, which then map upward to the F region, to create conditions for medium-scale spreadF . The calculations are based on an analytical model that uses the current continuity equation and field-aligned current closures to the F region in order to descr...
متن کاملA Linear Stochastic Model of a GCM’s Midlatitude Storm Tracks
A linear stochastic model is used to simulate the midlatitude storm tracks produced by an atmospheric GCM. A series of six perpetual insolation/SST GCM experiments are first performed for each month. These experiments capture the ‘‘midwinter suppression’’ of the Pacific storm track in a particularly clean way. The stochastic model is constructed by linearizing the GCM about its January climatol...
متن کاملfrom linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
15 صفحه اولTerdiurnal signatures in sporadic E layers at midlatitudes
Global Positioning System radio occultation measurements by the FORMOsa SATellite mission3/Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere and Climate satellites were used to analyse the behaviour of the signature of the terdiurnal tide in sporadic E (ES) layers at midlatitudes (43–63 N). According to theory, the occurrence of ES is expected when the vertical zonal wind shear, which ...
